Editor: Here we have Colin Self's "Pluto," currently residing at the Tate. It's visually striking; the stark yellow against that stormy blue is quite something. How do you interpret this work? Curator: Well, isn't it interesting? Pluto, the cartoon, set against what could be a world ending sky. Self often plays with the juxtaposition of innocence and impending doom. Is it a commentary on our childhood comforts in the face of adult anxieties, perhaps? Editor: That's fascinating, the idea of comfort versus anxiety. So, it's more than just a cartoon dog then? Curator: Oh, absolutely! It invites us to question what we hold dear when everything seems to be falling apart. A clever piece, indeed. Editor: I will definitely look at Colin Self's work differently now! Thanks!
