This is Rodolfo Arico's "Secret", and it looks like it came together with some drawing, painting, and maybe a bit of intuition. I can just see the artist, pen or brush in hand, circling this form, feeling it out. I love the flatness of it all, the way Arico doesn’t try to trick you into thinking this shape is popping off the surface. It's a pink triangle, not quite solid, hovering above a yellow base. And that yellow curve slicing through the pink? A beautiful, defiant gesture! It reminds me of some architectural drawings, but softened, made a little weird. You wonder if the guy was thinking about geometric abstraction, maybe had some ideas from the Bauhaus rattling around in his head. It's like he's letting you in on his own private visual language. And with painting like this, we're all just borrowing, stealing, and riffing off each other anyway, right?
