Tetyana Yablonska made "Rome, Trajan's Forum" using oil paint and what looks like some kind of brushy, broken strokes. The way she’s built up the columns with these little jabs of color, it’s all about the process, right? You can practically feel her working through it, one dab at a time. The surface is really active, and I like how the material almost dissolves into this haze of color. The columns up front are a wild mix of reds and blues, kind of obscuring the architecture behind them, like it's all pushing and pulling for space. Check out the way she's handled those buildings, those peachy, orange hues feel warm and sunny. It almost reminds me of some of Bonnard's paintings, you know? That same kind of loose, impressionistic vibe where everything's kind of shimmering and alive. It’s less about the solid form and more about the feeling of the place. It reminds us that art is always in conversation with itself, echoing and answering across time.
