Koloman Moser made this painting of Lake Garda with oil on canvas. It's giving me this feeling of improvisation, a sense of freedom in how he's moving the paint around. Check out the surface, you can really see the brushstrokes, the way he's layering those colours, it’s all about the physical act of painting. It's like you can feel the artist's hand moving across the canvas. Notice the mix of blues and whites in the water, and then those greens and browns in the mountains. It’s not just about representing a landscape, it’s about the experience of seeing and feeling that landscape. Moser was part of the Vienna Secession, and you can see echoes of artists like Klimt here, in the way he uses colour and pattern to create atmosphere. This is painting as a conversation, an ongoing exploration.
