This bag, or Wayaka, was woven by an anonymous artist, and it's a total trip of color and form. I mean, just look at those wild, vibrant stripes! It feels like the artist was just going for it, letting each color and pattern crash into the next with pure abandon. I can imagine them, totally in the zone, fingers flying, not worrying about perfection, just feeling the rhythm of the loom. There's a beautiful roughness to it, you know? The way the colors vibrate against each other, those little figures popping out here and there… It’s not trying to be anything but itself, a pure expression of creative energy. Like, imagine if Hilma af Klint and Sophie Taeuber-Arp had a baby, and that baby wove bags. It’s a reminder that art doesn't have to be precious or perfect to be powerful.
