"Portret van Hans Bol" is an etching created by Nicolas de Larmessin in 1682. It depicts the Dutch painter Hans Bol, and is a fine example of portraiture in the Baroque era. The work is housed at the Rijksmuseum and is a relatively small piece, measuring 184 mm by 137 mm. The detail of Bol's face and clothing is striking, and the use of light and shadow creates a sense of depth. The inscription at the bottom identifies Bol as a painter and the inscription includes the date the work was created.
