This engraving by Bernard Picart (1673-1733) depicts the Catholic funeral procession, service and burial. The artwork titled "Rooms-katholieke rouwstoet, uitvaartsdienst en begrafenis", created in 1724, is comprised of four panels. They depict the procession, the body laid out in the choir, the service and the burial. This artwork is a fine example of 18th century printmaking, and provides insight into the intricate rituals of Catholic funeral ceremonies. It is currently housed in the Rijksmuseum, Netherlands.
