Curator: Here we have Jens Lausen’s "Map No. III Ariadne’s Thread." What leaps out to you? Editor: Those colours! It feels intentionally synthetic, almost like printed ephemera. Curator: Absolutely. Lausen, born in 1937, seems to draw on graphic design here, doesn't he? The flat planes and defined edges suggest a deliberate engagement with commercial printing techniques. Editor: How interesting. The title suggests a pathway, but the construction, that insistent materiality, makes me wonder if that path is more about production than progress. Curator: Perhaps it’s a map of the imagination itself, filtered through the grid of modern making. Editor: A maze of making, then, not just one of meaning. Food for thought.
