Editor: This is "Portrait de Rembrandt" by Jan Pieter de Frey, housed here at Harvard Art Museums. It’s an etching, and the somber mood really strikes me. What do you see in this image? Curator: Well, I see Rembrandt, looking back at us across the centuries. It's as if he's challenging us to understand him, not just see him. He seems to be asking, "What will you create?" It’s a conversation across time. Don’t you think? Editor: That's powerful. I hadn't thought of it as a challenge, more of an observation. Curator: Art, like life, is full of different perspectives! That's what makes it exciting, isn't it?
