The Parade 1980

It's loose and free, like he’s not trying to nail anything down, just letting it unfold. It’s about feeling more than seeing, you know? Chagall makes me think of another artist I admire, Redon, who similarly mixed dream and reality, using a kind of symbolic imagery to evoke feelings over narratives.
