Yulia Mamontova painted "American kid's dream" with thick strokes of violet and blue, and touches of gold paint that glimmer like sunlight on the sea. Imagine her, palette in hand, building up the surface, one loaded brushstroke at a time. I can almost feel what it was like to create this. The physicality of applying paint to a canvas — the push and pull, the layering, the reworking. It's all about building this image, this moment of shared play and imagination. Look at how the figures emerge from the ground with confident strokes. The texture communicates so much: the feeling of sand beneath your feet, the vastness of the sea, the warmth of the sun on your skin. And that boat, a vessel of childhood dreams, held aloft by those two kids who may or may not be there. Painting is an ongoing conversation. It's about artists responding to one another across time, riffing on ideas, pushing boundaries. There's no right or wrong, just an endless process of exploration.
