"Zomer," or "Summer," is a 1714-1762 etching by Jakob Wangner, a Dutch artist known for his engravings. This detailed black and white print depicts a personified Summer in a landscape, with a female figure seated beneath an umbrella with a male figure standing beside her. Cherubs and other allegorical figures are featured, as well as floral elements and a decorative frame. It's a beautiful and detailed example of a Baroque-style engraving that uses fine lines and shading to create a three-dimensional effect. The work can be viewed in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
