"Og da den gamle Maud rystede af Kulde..." (And when old Maud shivered from the cold...) is a drawing by Danish artist Fritz Syberg, created in 1895. The drawing depicts a scene of domestic life, with an elderly woman, likely Maud, seated beside a cradle holding a baby. A younger woman, possibly Maud's daughter, sits nearby, looking at the baby with concern. Syberg’s masterful use of hatching and cross-hatching in the drawing creates a sense of depth and intimacy within the simple domestic setting. The drawing is a fine example of Syberg's realistic style, which often explored the lives of ordinary people and their everyday experiences. It is currently part of the collection of the SMK - Statens Museum for Kunst in Denmark.
