This painting, Two Women Sitting at a Bar, was created by Pablo Picasso at an unknown date, but what a vibe! It's all blues and greens, like peering through murky water. The way Picasso lays down the paint here is interesting. There's a real sense of process, like he's figuring it out as he goes, which, let's face it, is what painting is all about. Check out the back of the figure on the right, how the colors blend: greens, browns, blues swirling to create a shape. The surface of the painting itself becomes this living, breathing thing, full of texture and depth. It’s almost like the paint itself is doing the talking, you know? It makes me think of someone like Francis Bacon who used paint in a similarly physical way. Ultimately, this piece is all about the dialogue between colors and forms, and the way it leaves space for us to wander and wonder.
