This late 19th-century decorative band for clothing is an anonymous work of art. The band is a long, narrow strip of woven fabric with a geometric pattern of diamonds, hexagons, and other shapes in shades of yellow, orange, red, brown, and white. The band would have been used to adorn clothing, possibly as a trim or a sash. It is a beautiful example of the decorative arts of the late 19th century and is currently housed at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
