This Delftware tazza, or footed dish, dates from the late 17th century and is a beautiful example of Dutch blue and white porcelain. The tazza, made by the Grieksche A Factory, is decorated with a central image of a peacock in a stylized garden, surrounded by a border of floral motifs. The use of cobalt blue pigment is characteristic of Delftware, with its distinctive rich blue hues. The imagery and overall aesthetic are reminiscent of Chinese porcelain designs that were popular in Europe at the time. This piece would have likely been used for serving delicacies during a feast.
