Editor: This is an untitled photograph by Lucian and Mary Brown, showing a building destroyed by a storm. It's incredibly chaotic, a jumble of splintered wood and twisted metal. What do you see in this image? Curator: I see a raw vulnerability. The inverted tones amplify the sense of loss and the brutal force of nature. It makes me think about the resilience of the human spirit, our capacity to rebuild after devastation. Do you feel that too? Editor: I hadn't considered the resilience aspect, I was so focused on the destruction. I guess there's a weird hopefulness in capturing it. Curator: Precisely! It’s a testament, a haunting echo of survival amidst the wreckage. Editor: I never would have seen that without you pointing it out. Thanks. Curator: My pleasure! It's all about seeing the layers, isn’t it?
