Editor: This is Kim Lim's "Red Aquatint". The intense red draws me in! What can you tell me about the process? Curator: The aquatint process itself is key. Lim's choice emphasizes the labor involved in creating this texture and how the printmaking facilitates the reproduction of an image, challenging ideas of uniqueness. It’s about the consumption of art. Editor: That makes a lot of sense. I never thought about how the material informs the meaning. Curator: Exactly! Thinking about the process makes the piece. Now, can you see anything else? Editor: I guess I was just focusing on the lines, without really focusing on the how! Thanks!
