Ronnie Landfield made this "All Over Pour Painting" by pouring paint all over. I can almost see him in his studio, tilting and turning the canvas, coaxing those rivulets of coral, apricot, and lavender across the surface. It's like he's choreographing a dance of color! Look closely and you can see how the paint pools and gathers in some areas, creating subtle shifts in texture and depth. There's a real sense of movement, a feeling that the painting is still in the process of becoming. The horizontal lines remind me a little of the Color Field painters like Helen Frankenthaler, but with a grittier, more hands-on feel. Landfield’s not afraid to get messy, to let the paint do its thing. And that's what I love about it—the sense of freedom, the willingness to embrace chance and improvisation. It’s as though he said "yes" to every happy accident, every unexpected twist and turn.
