Editor: Here we have Anish Kapoor's "Untitled", held at the Tate. The vortex-like composition is quite mesmerizing. What materials and methods do you think Kapoor might have used to create such an effect? Curator: Notice the earthy tones, the gradations. It speaks to the labor-intensive processes often hidden within art objects. What societal structures enable the production and consumption of such work? Editor: So you're looking at how it was made, and who was involved? Curator: Exactly. Consider the artist's hand, but also the broader context of production and consumption. Kapoor's piece compels us to examine the materiality of art itself. What does the market value in this kind of simplicity? Editor: I hadn't considered the economic side of it. It gives me a lot to think about.
