Editor: Here we have Mary Cassatt's "In the Omnibus," a print of undetermined date. I find the subdued colors create such an intimate and serene atmosphere. What strikes you most about this image? Curator: The beauty lies in Cassatt capturing a fleeting moment of modern life. I think that she is commenting on women's roles, offering a glimpse into their private world within a public space. The composition feels so intentional, doesn't it? Like a snapshot of intimacy. Editor: Intimacy in public, that's quite the paradox! I never considered it that way. Curator: Precisely. And in my opinion, that's what makes it such a compelling and enduring image. What a treat to consider it together!
