This is a page from a book, made by Niels Larsen Stevns. It's got that classic old book look, you know? The kind where you can almost smell the paper. I can imagine Stevns poring over these legal texts, thinking about how to translate them into a visual form. What was it like to handle this book? Maybe he felt a sense of responsibility, like he was preserving something important. Or maybe he just liked the challenge of working with such precise, ordered information. I'm thinking about the relationship between text and image, and how artists are always borrowing, stealing, and remixing ideas from one another across time. What would Stevns think of my paintings? Would he see a connection between his work and mine? It’s like we're all part of one big, ongoing conversation.
