Steelpan 1739

"Steelpan" is a small silver pan crafted by Frederik van (II) Strant in 1739. The pan, measuring 3.5 cm in diameter and 1.3 cm in height, is a fine example of 18th century Dutch silver craftsmanship. The simple design and high quality of the piece highlight the expertise of the artist during his lifetime (1709-1754). The pan's intended use remains uncertain, but its small size and the presence of a spout suggest it may have been utilized for melting wax or other materials.
