This Textile Print was made by Lucille Lacoursiere, and immediately grabs me with its colours, the warm brown and cool blues working together to create a calm, ordered pattern. Lacoursiere’s process is clear: repetition, rhythm, and small variations. The thin lines create a texture that feels almost tactile, like running your fingers across a woven surface. The slight imperfections in the lines give it a human touch, a sense of the artist's hand. I like to think of artmaking as a way of constructing our own ways of seeing and experiencing the world. Look closely at the little jagged details in between the stripes, and you can see how this design comes alive. Lacoursiere's geometric patterns remind me of Anni Albers, who explored the possibilities of weaving as an art form. Both artists show how textiles can be more than just functional objects; they can be powerful expressions of creativity. Art, for me, is about embracing ambiguity, inviting multiple interpretations rather than settling on one fixed meaning.
