Editor: Jacques Prou’s etching, "Large Rocky Landscape," presents such a textured, almost dreamlike vista. What do you see in this piece? Curator: It's Prou at his most sublime! The landscape feels both familiar and otherworldly, doesn’t it? There’s a delicate balance between the detail in the rocks and trees and the almost ethereal quality of the sky. I wonder, do you sense a tension between the natural world and the spiritual quest suggested by the title? Editor: I hadn’t considered that tension, but now that you mention it, the small figures give scale to the imposing scene, dwarfed by nature, maybe humbled? Curator: Exactly! It’s like Prou is inviting us to reflect on our place in the grand scheme of things, a tiny speck in a vast, beautiful, and maybe even unknowable world. What a thought! Editor: That's beautiful. Thanks, I'll carry that with me.
