Mostafa Dashti made this painting with what looks like broad strokes of blue oil paint, giving it a kind of dreamy, atmospheric feel. I love how the whole image is built from layers of blue, from the palest almost-white to the deepest indigo. You can really see the physicality of the paint and how he applied it. There's a real range of textures, from smooth, blended areas to more visible brushstrokes, particularly in the lower part. Notice that dark swoosh on the left? It's like a cloud or a shadow, and it's contrasted with some very light touches right in the middle, so the composition is balancing light and dark. This piece reminds me of the later paintings of Mark Rothko, which are also all about color and mood. It's less about what you see and more about how you feel. Art is like that; always in dialogue, never really settled.
