Editor: So here we have Dennis Feldman's black and white photograph, "Gas station – Grey Mountain, Arizona." It feels so… lonely, somehow. The open road, the lone figure. What do you make of it? Curator: Lonely's a good word! It's that American West feeling, right? That wide-open space pressing in. And the Shell sign feels almost like a mirage. You ever driven through the desert and felt that kind of…suspended anticipation? Editor: Totally! I think it's also the composition. The car hood in the foreground makes you feel like you are there, on your way somewhere. Curator: Exactly! It's a journey, both literal and maybe a journey of the soul. It makes you wonder where everyone is going, where everyone came from. Beautiful, isn’t it? Editor: It is, and now I am craving a road trip. Curator: Me too. Maybe we should pack up and go find our own lonely gas station.
