Robert Sayer's "Gezicht op het Stadhuis te Amsterdam met brandweerlieden op de Dam" is an 18th-century hand-colored etching depicting the Town Hall of Amsterdam with firemen on Dam Square. Sayer, a British engraver and publisher, created this work sometime between 1752 and 1754. The print offers a detailed perspective of the cityscape, showcasing the architecture of the Town Hall and the surrounding buildings. It captures a moment of activity with firemen and their equipment, providing a glimpse into the daily life of 18th-century Amsterdam. The etching is now part of the Rijksmuseum collection in Amsterdam.
