Editor: This is "Willi Baumeister," a black and white photograph by Adolf Lazi. The man looks intensely focused, almost as if the pencil is an extension of his very thoughts. What do you make of this portrait? Curator: Oh, I see a soul wrestling with creation. The starkness, the lines etching deep thought onto his face...it speaks of the solitude of the artist, perhaps a struggle with form itself. Almost like he is trying to dissect his thoughts. What do you think? Editor: I never thought of it as dissecting; that's really insightful. Curator: Art's a mirror, isn't it? Reflecting our own takes back at us. That's what makes it so delicious. Editor: It does! It's like we’re both creating something new with each viewing. Curator: Exactly! The art transforms, and so do we.
