Arsen Savadov made this photograph, Last Project, and you know, looking at it, I’m struck by the intimacy of the scene, and how it’s built from simple observations. The color palette is earthy – greens, browns, muted whites – giving it a kind of grounded feel. The two figures, one reclining on a blanket, the other leaning over them, create a focal point within the sprawling landscape. The texture of the blanket, the way the light catches on the grass, you can almost feel the coolness of the earth. The overall composition suggests a sense of quiet contemplation.
