Engelenkoren rond het Christuskind 1617

"Engelenkoren rond het Christuskind" (1617) is a woodcut by Christoffel van (II) Sichem depicting a scene of angels making music in the clouds while the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus look on from below. The scene is presented in a black and white, highly detailed style, common to the art of the early 17th century, and reflects the artistic principles of the Baroque period. This small yet intricate woodcut can be found today in the Rijksmuseum.
