This silver coin, known as a Florijn, was minted in 1681 by the province of Groningen and the surrounding lands. It features the coat of arms of Groningen and the Ommelanden, a shield divided into four quarters each depicting a different heraldic design. The coin’s small size and detailed design make it a fascinating example of early Dutch numismatics.
