Turn of the Tide 

Editor: Sarah Joncas's "Turn of the Tide" is captivating! It seems to be painting or some kind of acrylic, with these two figures beneath a stark tree and looming moon. The atmosphere is heavy with unspoken emotions. I’m curious, what do you see in this piece? Curator: Oh, isn’t it something? For me, it whispers of half-told tales. The figures, almost back-to-back, hint at a turning point, a shift in their relationship – perhaps mirroring the lunar cycle looming above them. I am intrigued about the flowers embedded in their clothes; their beauty adds such lovely grace and charm. But what tide are they turning from, I wonder? Or towards? What's your guess? Editor: Perhaps the tide of their relationship, one moving away as the other looks forward. It could be a symbolic representation of changing feelings. Or even just simply the push and pull we experience. What is amazing to me, is how you find so many symbols in everything. Curator: Ah, but isn’t that the beauty of it all? To find reflections of ourselves in the unexpected corners of art? It's a fun mirror, isn't it? And this painting offers a lovely chance to see our many emotions represented through the subjects.
