Andreas Peter Bernstorff (1735–1797), Danish Foreign Minister (1784–97) 1793

This silver medal, created in 1793 by Danish artist Daniel Jensen Adzer, depicts Andreas Peter Bernstorff, the Danish Foreign Minister from 1784-1797. The medal shows Bernstorff in profile, with his hair adorned with a laurel wreath. The inscription around the edge reads "STATS MINISTREN ANDREAS PETRUS BERNSTORFF," which translates to "State Minister Andreas Peter Bernstorff." This artwork, now part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection, is a fine example of 18th-century medallic portraiture, commemorating a significant figure in Danish history.
