This is the bound volume of Sir William Chambers’ *Plans, Elevations, Sections, and Perspective Views of the Gardens and Buildings at Kew*, a comprehensive design for the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, a project that Chambers undertook for King George III in 1757. The green leather cover is decorated with a gold-tooled border of floral patterns and a central gilt emblem featuring a crown and the initials "G.R." for "George Rex," signifying King George III. This volume, now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, is a testament to Chambers’ architectural achievements.
