Curator: The jitterbug, with its roots in swing and Lindy Hop, represents exuberance. Notice the holding hands - a potent symbol of connection and shared joy, but also restraint. Inverted, it questions perceived notions of reality and memory. Editor: Restraint, even in an exuberant dance? That’s interesting. I hadn’t thought of that.
