This is Hryhorii Havrylenko's "Sketch of Three Compositions," made with pencil on paper. It’s a dance of marks, and the way he layers the hatching creates depth and shadow, like he's building a world with just a few simple strokes. I love how the texture comes alive with each little line. Look at the lower composition, the way the shapes almost suggest a gateway, or maybe a fragmented memory. Havrylenko isn't trying to hide his process, you can see every decision, every change of mind right there on the surface. The physicality of the pencil, the way it bites into the paper, it all adds to the emotional punch. It reminds me of Paul Klee, that same playful exploration of form and line. Art is a conversation, right? An ongoing exchange of ideas, and this sketch feels like Havrylenko is inviting us to join in, to bring our own interpretations to the table. It's ambiguous, sure, but that's where the magic happens.
