This sculpture, called "Cubos Incrustados," is by Mathias Goeritz. It's made of golden cubes that seem to interlock. It's like he took a bunch of geometric shapes and puzzled them together. I imagine Goeritz playing with these forms, maybe even stacking blocks as a kid. You know, trying to figure out how they fit, how they balance. The gold gives it this precious, almost ancient feel, like a lost treasure. Looking at the surface, you can almost see the artist's hand. Those little imperfections and variations in the gold leaf make it human. It reminds me of Brancusi, but with a harder edge. Goeritz's work is definitely part of this bigger conversation artists have across time, always riffing off each other's ideas. He’s saying something about geometry, value, and maybe even how we see the world. It is a puzzle without one right answer.
