Editor: Here we have Henry William Bunbury's sketch, "Six Heads, One that of a Woman in a High Headdress." It's a pencil drawing, and it feels almost like eavesdropping on a private sketchbook. What do you make of this array of characters? Curator: It's like catching whispers from the 18th century. I love how Bunbury gives us these fleeting glimpses, almost caricatures, really. The woman with the towering headdress--isn't she magnificent? There's a touch of social satire, perhaps? A little poke at the extravagance of the time? Editor: It definitely feels playful. Curator: Exactly! It's loose, gestural, and hints at stories untold. One wonders what Bunbury was thinking while he sketched these delightful souls. Editor: I see it now, thank you. I’ll remember Bunbury’s wit the next time I see a towering wig.
