Ellsworth Kelly made this "White Curve," and what strikes me is how much he achieves with so little. It’s really about seeing, or maybe, feeling. Kelly’s known for his minimalist approach, but look closely, and you’ll see the white isn’t just white. There's a subtle dance of light and shadow, a barely-there texture that gives the form a sense of depth and presence. The curve itself, so simple, yet so evocative. It's like a breath, an opening, a quiet invitation. The beauty of Kelly's work is its openness. It reminds me a bit of Agnes Martin’s grids, in that they both share a belief in the power of simplicity to unlock something profound. There’s no story here, no grand narrative, just a form, a color, and the space in between. It’s up to us to bring our own experiences to the table, to fill in the blanks, and find our own meaning. And isn’t that what art is all about?
