Jurgen Partenheimer made this Fulgor Oscuro, we don't know exactly when, but it looks like it was made with ink and paper or canvas. What strikes me is the artist’s hand, the directness of the marks, the joy of the medium. You can see the artist thinking through the act of making. There's this inky blue shape at the centre. It’s solid but also has this looping open structure at the heart of it. Look at how the blue is applied in layers, the variations in tone, the way the ink bleeds slightly into the paper. This blue almost seems to vibrate against the stark black shapes and spindly lines around it. It reminds me a little of Joan Miró’s biomorphic forms, and that sense of playful invention. I guess what I'm trying to say is that art isn't about answers, it’s about possibilities.
