Editor: Here we have Goya’s “They Fly." The composition is striking, especially the contrast between the woman floating and the figures beneath her. It evokes a sense of eerie lightness. How do you interpret this work? Curator: It's fascinating, isn't it? The title, "Volaverunt," hints at flight, escape, but also perhaps a fleeting moment. I always wonder if Goya is hinting at the transience of beauty, or even a critique of societal burdens. Are those figures supporting her willingly, or are they trapped? Editor: That’s a perspective I hadn’t considered. I was so focused on her apparent freedom. Curator: Perhaps Goya wants us to question what we consider freedom to be? It’s a reminder to always look beneath the surface.
