This silver coin, minted in 1681 by the Province of Holland, is a prime example of Dutch numismatics. The coin's obverse features the coat of arms of Holland, a lion holding a sword, within a decorative frame. The reverse depicts a female figure, possibly representing the Dutch Republic, holding a scepter and standing on a plinth, while the inscription around her suggests it may be a representation of Fortuna, the goddess of fortune. The coin, currently in the Rijksmuseum, offers a glimpse into the history of Dutch coinage and its artistic expression.
