"De middag" (The Noon) is an etching by Dutch artist Jeremias Wachsmuth created between 1758 and 1760. The artwork depicts a scene from the Bible, specifically the moment when Sarah, the wife of Abraham, laughs at the idea of giving birth to a child at an old age. The scene takes place outdoors, with a group of figures gathered beneath a tree, and an angel appears above, enveloped in a cloud. The print is currently housed at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, and its dimensions are 194mm x 127mm. This artwork showcases the artistic talent of Wachsmuth and provides a glimpse into the artist's interpretation of a key biblical story.
