Pietro Lazzari made this expressive ink drawing of Adam and Eve with swift, calligraphic marks on paper. Looking at it, I can almost feel the artist’s hand moving, decisive yet sensitive, across the surface. I imagine Lazzari, maybe in his studio, the scent of ink in the air, trying to get at something primal. You know, that story of origins, guilt, love… all tangled up. The lines seem to search, finding form and then letting it dissolve back into abstraction. There's a push and pull, like the figures themselves are emerging from a void, their shapes not quite fixed, but in constant negotiation. It’s like he’s saying, “Here’s a story we all know, but what does it *feel* like?" That heavy, dark stroke cascading down - is that shame? Longing? Maybe both. And those tiny marks at the bottom, like an afterthought… are they seeds, or tears? I don't know, but it feels like a conversation, not just with the biblical narrative, but with a whole history of artists wrestling with these big questions.
