"Gore Besje" is an etching by Hendrik Bary, a Dutch artist who lived from 1640 to 1707. The etching depicts a woman, known as Gore Besje, pouring liquid from a pitcher out of a window. The scene is rendered in a realistic style and the woman's expression is exaggerated, possibly reflecting her drunkenness. This etching, part of the Rijksmuseum's collection, is a satirical portrayal of a character from Dutch folklore and is representative of Bary’s mastery of the etching technique.
