"Beauty" is a hanging scroll painting by Kano Chikanobu, a prominent figure in the Kano school of Japanese painting, dating from 1660-1728. The artwork depicts a woman reclining gracefully against a patterned cushion, a delicate blossoming cherry tree above her, and a large, pale moon in the background. The painting exemplifies the refined aesthetics of the Edo period and is now housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
