Hifa Cybe created this photograph titled 'Lost & Found', although the exact date remains unknown. I’m thinking about the layers of time captured here, the blur of motion, and the stillness of the space. What was Hifa feeling as they captured this image? I can imagine them moving around, trying to capture the essence of a moment, or a feeling. It's like they’re painting with light, layering exposures to create a sense of depth and movement. The human figure seems to be emerging out of the shadows, or perhaps sinking back into them. The tonal palette is somber, a harmony of grays and browns that feels both melancholic and evocative. It reminds me of some of Gerhard Richter's blurred figurative paintings, where the subject seems to be caught between presence and absence. There’s a conversation happening between photographers and painters, a shared language of light, shadow, and form.
