This is Louis Plogsted's Windsor Chair. There’s something so beautiful about the way this chair has been rendered in watercolor. I can almost feel Plogsted’s focus and care as he built up the layers of color, describing the wood grain and subtle shadows. You can tell he really looked at this chair, you know? It’s like he was trying to capture not just its form, but its essence—the way it sits in space, the way light plays across its surface. I wonder what he was thinking when he made it, maybe contemplating its history, its function. And the colours—so muted and earthy. It reminds me of those early American portraits, where the artists were trying to capture something real and honest. Like the chair is brought to life through the hand of the artist. It’s as though the artist breathes life into this humble object.
