Alevtyna Kakhidze made this untitled drawing with pens and coloured pencils. It's a kind of raw and intuitive outpour, I can almost feel her hand moving across the page. The stark black lines remind me of art brut, there's such an urgency and directness. And then the pops of red, blue and green, they just jolt you awake. I can imagine her thinking out loud, letting the images and text tumble out in real time. Those double-headed figures feel like a symbol, but of what? And those little speech bubbles, they're like snippets of a conversation or maybe fragments of thoughts swirling around in her head.
